Waiting at the Bridge |
When I decided to join Lori Anderson's "Memories and Thanks Blog Hop ", I did not have a specific person in mind .
Many people have influenced my life .
Many people have a special place my heart .
I thought I would sign up and then think about who I would choose as my inspiration.
Sadly, fate made the choice for me .
On November 17 a friend and co-worker was killed in tragic automobile accident.
I blogged about the loss
http://beetreebyme.blogspot.com/2012/12/a-life-remembered.html
This statement became my inspiration
" Tyler is at the Rainbow Bridge waiting to bring your dog to you"
Tyler will always be in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
I made a large rainbow bead in the shape of a heart .
Then I added a selection of vintage brass dog tags.
I am always collecting bits and pieces of vintage to use in my jewelry.
I especial love these old tags. Most are well worn with the beautiful patina of daily use.
I like to think about the beloved pets these once belonged to.
I think they represent perfectly the fur persons waiting at the rainbow bridge for their humans.
Tyler loved dogs so much and they loved him in return.
It is my prayer he is truly with them still, waiting for the day when all loved ones will be together again .
this week enjoy a visit with all the Blog hop participants
treasure your memories
and
Bead Happy

So sad about your friend. You made a beautiful tribute piece. The heart is gorgeous, and the dog tags are so unique.
ReplyDeleteYour story is a very touching one (I know it seems odd, but the reference to the Rainbow Bridge brought more emotions than I thought it'll be possible after today's emotional rollercoaster that this blog hop has been so far). I am sorry for your loss - your tribute (both literal and artistic) is beautiful! The heart is unique and simply gorgeous, and the dog tags add a special touch to this piece.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing!
Gorgeous work - I love the rainbow bridge story, and your work represents it perfectly.
ReplyDeleteA lovely tribute necklace to a life that was tragically cut way too short. I'm so sorry for the loss of this co-worker and friend. The use of dog tags I have to say are inspirational. Enjoy the hop.
ReplyDeleteHugs

ReplyDeleteSuch a stirring tribute to the life of your friend Tyler cut tragically short. I like the idea that he is up in heaven tending to the pets that have crossed over. Thanks for sharing your story and creation. Enjoy the day. Erin
